1. Are you close to museums and landmarks?
Yes, we are located just minutes from many museums and
sights of interest. Among them are the Georgia Music Hall
of Fame, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Tubman African American
Museum, Cannonball House, The Hay House, The Douglass Theatre,
and The Grand Opera House.
2. Is transportation available to the
museums and landmarks?
Yes, although many of the locations are within walking distance
of the Inn, transportation is made available through Macon’s
trolley service and local taxi companies.
3. Can someone join me for breakfast?
Yes, you may have guests for breakfast and they may eat for
a minimal charge.
4. Do you cater to special occasions such as anniversaries and honeymoons?
Yes, the 1842 Inn exudes romantic southern charm with its 17-columned wrap-around verandah, cozy
tables for two in the garden, fireplaces and whirlpools in many of the 19 guest rooms, and optional
breakfast in bed. The Inn offers a "Romance Package", which is a lovely way, at anytime of year,
to experience the charm the 1842 has to offer. The "Romance Package" includes a bottle of Champagne
and Chocolate truffles on arrival, Deluxe accommodations, evening hospitality hour with hors d'oeuvres
and cash bar, traditional southern breakfast, turn down service.
5. Can arrangements be made for dinner
to be delivered to my room?
Yes, the concierge can order dinner from Marco Ristorante Italiano and bring it to the guest's room.
6. When is the best time to visit Macon?
All seasons are delightful. Many people come to enjoy Macon's
many festivals. Among those is the world-renowned Macon Georgia's
International Cherry Blossom Festival, which will be held
last two weeks of March every year. Taste of Downtown, featuring
local downtown restaurants, will be held in mid-September.
The Georgia State Fair will be held in October and First Night
Macon, the city's celebration and bringing in of the New Year,
is held on December 31st.

distance?
Yes, there is a park nearby and self-guided maps are available
for those who wish to take a stroll. The area is well lit
for nighttime viewing.

of the Inn. From fast food to formal dining, there are a variety
of places to eat while staying at the 1842 Inn.

Yes, with advance notice at the time of reservation, horse
drawn carriages can be arranged by the concierge.

Village is Macon’s premier antique district featuring
nine antique shops on one block.

No, but we present all our guests with a complimentary pass
to Macon Health Club. Guests of the 1842 Inn can enjoy all
the luxuries of a premier health club within blocks of the
Inn. Arrangements can be made for guests to visit Healy Point
Country Club for a swim, a round of golf or a game of tennis.

The 1842 Inn is located only 1.5 hours south of Atlanta, 2
hours east of Calloway Gardens and 2.5 hours east of Andersonville
and Plains Georgia.

Yes, the 1842 Inn is a wonderful place for an intimate outdoor
wedding and/or reception. The colorful landscape provides
an excellent backdrop for many events. The 1842 Inn can plan
the most elaborate wedding ceremony exclusively or just provide
the location for the event. Receptions can be catered and
the courteous, professional staff can host events of all kinds.
